Religious Education is taught in all Key Stages in line with the Derbyshire Agreed Syllabus 2014-2019.

Our RE curriculum compliments our PSHE curriculum and the themes of our school which are tolerance, understanding and inclusion.

In Key Stage 3, the pupils will study Christianity plus a minimum of two of the six principal religions. In Key Stage 4, the pupils are undertaking RE AIM units that have been specifically written for SSSC by the RE Coordinator. Units include an Introduction to General Religious Education and Religion and the Media at Entry Level  3 and Family Relationships: A Christian Perspective and Religion and Our Society at Level 1.

In addition, pupils are encouraged to develop their thinking skills in order to form their own thoughts, opinions and ideas about the world around them which is important to develop their sense of self.
