Another term comes to an end at Swanwick School and Sports College; the children have had a busy half term with lots of events taking place. These included a non uniform day for Children in Need, KS3 visited the Galleries of Justice and KS4 have visited The Quad to create stop frame animations of Macbeth.
BAD WEATHER
If school has to close because of bad weather SSSC will try and inform you immediately either by text message/school website.
TERM DATES
We will be closing for the Christmas holidays on Friday 18th December at 1.30pm. The school will re-open on Monday 5thJanuary.
INSET DAYS
The remaining inset days for the current Academic Year are:

PANTOMIME
The whole school had a fabulous time at the pantomime in Mansfield. The children were singing along with the cast of Aladdin.
SKI TRIP
Some lucky children will be going skiing for a week on the 23rd January 2016.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
After school clubs will commence on the 13th January.
MERRY CHRISTMAS

CHILDREN IN NEED
Non-Uniform Day on Friday 13th November raised £100 for Children in Need. The children had fun dressing in their pyjamas or their favourite fancy dress clothes.
Thanks to everyone for your support.
DRAYTON MANOR
The whole school had a fantastic day out at Drayton Manor Park thanks to the Rotary Club. All children had free admission to the park and lunch was also provided.
All the children received a medal and a snow globe.
GALLERIES OF JUSTICE
As part of the KS3 Theme curriculum students visited The Galleries of Justice in Nottingham. Pupils participated in an interactive workshop that taught pupils a greater understanding of Crime and Punishment throughout the ages.
Pupils had a wonderful day and have since produced some excellent work in Media, Food Technology, Drama and Art.
PREFECT NEWS
This half term KS4 have been to the cinema to watch the new James Bond movie, Spectre. We have visited The Quad to learn about Shakespeare and did some freeze frame animations. We have had a busy exciting term and are all looking forward to the Christmas Fayre and Swanwick’s got Talent. By Lucy and Bradley
