English Institute Of Sport - Sheffield

On Wednesday 30th March Key Stage 3 pupils visited the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield to take part in a variety of sporting challenges. The trip formed part of our curriculum in Theme as our current topic is 'Diversity and Wellbeing’. The aim of the trip was to allow pupils the opportunity to take part in new sports, socialise with their peers and experience the benefits of exercise in relation to enhancing their well-being.

Pupils participated in 5 events in the morning - long jump, high jump, a sports quiz, 60 second movement challenges and javelin. Once these had been completed pupils took part in 60m sprints and a series of relay races. We even had some very competitive staff teams taking part!

Competing in an international competition standard arena really inspired our pupils to try their very best! We had a fantastic day and it was brilliant to see such levels of effort, enjoyment and participation!
