SSSC Football Team Celebrate Victory
SSSC 11 – Brackenfield 0
SSSC Key Stage 3 football team celebrated an impressive victory against Brackenfield on Thursday afternoon. Troy Melia opened the scored with a low drive from outside the box through the goalkeeper’s legs. Shortly afterwards Shamar Weir drilled in another low drive from just outside the area. Robert Shore grabbed a third when he broke away down the right and fired home into the roof of the net. Harry Gannon then blasted home from range, beating the goalkeeper to his bottom left side. Ben Smith scored the next goal, controlling a cross with his thigh and volleying home. Beau Bradford swept home a sixth from the angle. Ben Smith rounded off the first half scoring with another low drive from just outside the box making the score 7-0.
The second half started with Troy Melia scoring his second of the game following a mazy dribble. Ben Smith completed his hatrick with a tap in to make in 8-0. Ethan Barlow then scored his first goal for SSSC running through and rounding the goalkeeper, before celebrating in style. Shamar Weir then rounded off the scoring with another fine finish after slick build up play.
Special mention must also go to pupils Kalem Nicholls, Harry Palmer, Jaiden Anderson, Owen Wharton and Ben Reynolds who between them worked hard to keep a clean sheet.
The boys demonstrated a fantastic attitude during the game and demonstrated excellent team work to really support each other throughout.
