Behaviour Support

A two day Team Teach training event takes places every other year. Currently we have two staff who are trained Team Teach instructors delivering training for our staff as well as other staff within the federation. They also provide regular refresher sessions ensuring the Team Teach ethos is embedded within SSSC. There is a rigorous reporting procedure in place (Pink forms), Positive Handling Plans (PHPs) and Individual Risk Assessments (RA) are in place for all pupils who require them and staff work closely with the Senior Leadership Team in order to develop/implement PHPs when necessary.

Anti-Bullying:

At SSSC we ensure we always participate in Anti-bullying week. It is featured throughout all Key Stage Objectives within SSSC’s PSHE spiral approach. The curriculum is taught through a spiral approach so the concepts and objectives are being revisited and reinforced throughout the academic year.

We have child friendly Anti-bullying policy and also have eight school Prefects that are there to be student voice and buddy monitors. Annually we complete a questionnaire in regards to bullying to ensure we are providing a safe environment for all our students.

Inclusion:

Whenever appropriate we provide opportunities for inclusion in order for our pupils to achieve successful inclusion within Swanwick School and Sports College and into mainstream schools, college or Further Education and enable students to practice the skills needed in order to experience successful inclusion within their community.

Pupil Involvement:

We encourage our pupils to have and express their views in a variety of ways. Pupils are encouraged to develop their choice making skills as a priority. This is evident through the school council contributions, the role and responsibilities of Prefects, annual reviews, target setting and pupil self-assessment within lessons.

Assessment:

Assessment, Recording and Reporting policy.
