As part of our English curriculum, KS4 students have been studying poetry—both analysis and creative writing. This poem was written by one of our pupils:
The Titanoboa
A colossal creature that all mammals fear,
An apex predator, that’s very long and near,
a fossil that could swallow anything it get its hands on,
all creatures come out hollow, when its finished eating,
its silent as a mouse, you’ll never hear it coming,
a strong jaw, that can dislocate to eat what it meets,
it slithers so smoothly like spreading melted butter on bread,
when it swallows its meal, it withers away inside of this colossal creature.
