Creative Explorers

It has been a fabulous first half term to our creative explorers program with the primary department. The children have all made a fabulous effort getting stuck in with all of the different activities and making the most of the varied environment. The theme for this half term has been exploration and the children have completed lots of activities getting them familiar with the forest environment including bug hunts, identifying leaf features and even a bear hunt! We have also explored lots of the dangers in the forest and discussed how to keep safe, the children are all now developing some really good ideas for problem solving when they come across something they are not used to. During some slightly wet weather the children had a go at putting up their own shelters. This week we picked sloes from the forest ready to turn into sloe syrup to enjoy as a hot drink when the weather gets colder. It has been great to see the children embrace all of the activities which have been put in front of them and take on lots of new challenges as well as developing their communication and teamwork skills as a group!
