Over the last fours years SSSC have taken part in The Special Smiles Award which is an oral health programme that helps schools improve their oral health.
We have achieved the Bronze, Silver and Gold and this year we are very proud to announce that we are the first special school to achieve the Platinum Award.
For each award, each class that takes part has a criteria that they must achieve. This year, three classes have taken part and have worked incredibly hard to achieve this award.
They have taken part in daily toothbrushing, weekly toothbrushing activities, dental surveys, shopping for oral hygiene products, created posters, eating a healthy diet and the Year 8 form joined the TerraCycle Green Project and have set up a recycling hub for dental products within the school.
